Book: Science and Sikhism- Testimonials

“I have read your book. It’s a tremendous service and resource for those of us interested not only in science, but with the connections between Sikhi and the natural world. Already I have a student use your book as a resource for their course work. I recently had to give a short presentation on the Indic view of nature and environment. Your book was indispensable for guiding me through Sikh understandings. Thank you again for gifting me a copy of your work. It will be of value for years to come.”
Dr. Michael Hawley, Associate Professor, University of Calgary, Calgary, Edmonton, Canada, 23 Feb 2020

“Science and Sikhism” is an enjoyable and insightful introduction into Sikhism for me. Dr. D.P. Singh articulates and expands on some thought provoking theologies, and relates them back to passages within Sikhism scriptures. The book is written in current language and has an optimistic and uplifting perspective.”
Gary Hanford, Project Manager, Baragar Mechanical Installations, Toronto, Canada, 15 Oct. 2018.

“Science and Sikhism” is a game changer in our understanding of Sikhism. It gives us a new perspective on the traditional thought pattern. Its relevance in this era of global warming is all the more pertinent. Also in these demoralizing times, the ethical values propounded by the book adds a healing touch. Highly recommended for those in the quest of understanding Sikhism in the modern context.”

“This is an excellent work by Dr. DP Singh and I must thank Bhai Harbans Lal Ji for drawing our attention to it. It covers Sikhi well using quotes from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib – all reproduced in Gurmukhi. The title is a bit misleading as not everything here is related to Science – but that is a small criticism. The topic of Creation is well treated as well as concepts such as Panch Tatt and Wismaad. Certainly well worth the read and I was happy to see how the book has been laid out and clear in its presentation. Congratulations!”,

“Last evening …….. read a few chapters from the fascinating & well-researched book : ‘Science and Sikhism – Conflict or Coherence’, authored by Dr D P Singh. Interestingly several key points in the book coincide with the theme of the day – ‘Earth Day’ / ‘Earth Month’ !
Pg. 231: ‘Basant’ (Spring) – “Spring is the perfect time to affect a positive change in one’s life, as nature provides powerful cues for new growth.”
Some ideas shared by the author are: 1. Feel the Power of Nature – Take a long leisurely walk … 2. Reinvent Yourself 3. Support Body-Mind Happiness 4. Be Pragmatic. 5. Be Compassionate. 6. Be Healthy 7. Be Grateful.
Welcoming the spring in our lives, may all of us blossom forth with the flowers of Goodness, Love, Compassion, Gratitude and Grace!
Thank you, Dr. Singh! for this well-researched book – sharing your deep insights on this wonderful subject. ……. your book honors all great thinkers and revolutionaries through the ages (the ‘Buddhas’) – who have encouraged us to learn through deep inquiry & practical experience from Mother Nature as well as from the Journey inwards to connect with its Core. Wish you much continued Success & Joy,”

I was reading the book you authored (Sikhism and Science). It’s an amazing book. I’m writing to appreciate your great work. The knowledge I got from reading about half of the book left an indelible imprint on my mind. I’m going to finish it. A lot of my confusions regarding Sikhism has been cleared and most importantly, my faith got a lot more stronger. I can’t thank you enough! 🙂
Arshdeep Singh, Student, Mississauga, ON, Canada, 21 March 2019

“I was lucky to read your book,”Science and Religion.” Accordingly felt inspired to be in communication with you.
I really enjoyed knowing its contents, unknown to me.
The knowledge shared in the book and use of super class English is wonderful since it reflects your high level bliss of divine love of Gurbani. The effort involved in writing is beyond the power of measurement by any scientific instrument available to scientists i.e. Except their MINDS !!!!
AMAZING INDEED!!! CONGRATS A MILLION TIMES.”

“Thanks for elaborating the Sikh thoughts and spirituality in such finely divided sections having full relevance in twenty first century. Alas , left intellectuals insisted on finding irreconcilable conflict between Reason and Faith— that is between Virtual Reality and Visible Reality Around— and ended up in confusing the things further.”
Jaspal Singh Sidhu, Sikh Scholar, Delhi, India, 13 August, 2018

“The book by DP Singh has a Vast coverage of Topics; never covered before in any book.”
Dr. Hardev Singh Virk, Professor of Eminance, Punjabi University, Patiala, India, 13 August 2018

“Heartiest Congratulations! A very important & much=needed contribution to expand the frontiers of knowledge.”
Jaspal Bajwa, Transformational Leadership – Coach & Consultant, Mississauga, ON, Canada, 30 March 2018

“Surely, a scientific vision from a physicist like Dr. Devinder Pal Singh on religion must be fascinating and so it is. Nanakian Philosophy in relation to geo-physical nature of this Universe gives new dimensions to a religion called Sikhism. The most intriguing part that blesses my soul is how this prophetic vision of Guru Nanak could explore and explain the planetary system and of this Earth and composition of its elements, in fifteen century. This book is a launch towards a scientific religious study.”
Dr. Solomon Naz, Professor of Comparative Religious Studies (Retd.), Canada Christian College, York University & Sr. Pastor Asian Christian Church, Toronto. ON, Canada.  Jan 2018

“This is an important volume addressing issues of science and Sikhism, written by a trained physicist who is at the same time a deeply spiritual Sikh.  Bringing the lenses of his own Sikh perspective, innovative and sensitive approaches to Sikh scripture, alongside his scientific worldview allows for a fascinating foray into the religion of the Sikhs, but also offers a fascinating glimpse into a worldview largely unknown to non-Sikhs.   He writes of the earth as the Great Mother, the moon as our Esoteric Neighbor, the Enigmatic Star that is our sun, and creation at large, all deeply embedded within images and metaphors from the Guru Granth Sahib, the sacred scripture of the Sikhs.”
Dr. Doris R. Jakobsh, Professor, Religious Studies, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada, Jan 2018
